Sweden ne apna pehla mpox case Thursday ko report kiya, ek din pehle he World Health Organization (WHO) ne is infection ko global public health emergency declare kiya. Iske sath hi, Sweden pehla African continent se bahar country ban gaya hai jahan mpox virus ka zyada contagious strain report hua hai.
Sweden Ke Stockholm mein
“ek insaan jo care lene aaya” usme mpox detect hua, jo clade I variant ke wajah se hai. Sweden’s Public Health Agency ke statement ke mutabiq yeh pehla case hai jo African continent ke bahar clade I se diagnose hua.
Patient ne virus Africa ke ek region se contract kiya jahan abhi mpox clade I ka major outbreak chal raha hai, yeh information state epidemiologist Magnus Gisslen ne di.
Gisslen ne kaha, “Is baat ka koi risk nahi hai general population ke liye, kyunki European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) ke hisaab se abhi yeh risk bohot low hai.”
Wednesday ko, WHO ne mpox ko global public health emergency declare kiya, dusre time in two years, Democratic Republic of Congo ke outbreak ke baad jo doosri countries mein spread ho gaya.
WHO ke director general Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus ne kaha, “Mpox ka naya clade aur iska rapid spread eastern DRC mein, nearby countries mein cases report hona kaafi alarming hai.”
Mpox pehle monkeypox ke naam se jaana jaata tha. Yeh ek viral disease hai jo close contact se spread hoti hai infected person ya animal ke sath. Symptoms mein fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes, aur characteristic rash shamil hai jo face se start hoti hai aur body mein spread hoti hai.
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ke mutabiq, mpox infected person dusro mein virus spread kar sakta hai symptoms ke start hone se lekar jab tak lesions puri tarah heal nahi hoti aur nayi skin layer form nahi hoti. Infectious period usually 2 se 4 weeks hota hai.
