The Supreme Court ne Thursday ko Kolkata ke RG Kar Medical College aur Hospital ke postgraduate medic ke rape-murder case par sunwayi shuru ki, jismein CBI aur West Bengal government ki status reports review ki gayi. Court ne case mein kai muddon par chinta jatayi, jismein FIR register karne mein delay ko “extremely disturbing” kaha.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta ne court ko bataya ki FIR raat 11:45 baje register hui, victim ke cremation ke baad. Yeh khulaasa police ki handling par sawal uthata hai. CBI ne bhi report kiya ki state police ne pehle victim ke parents ko suicide bataya tha, baad mein murder ki tasdiq ki. Victim ke friend ne bhi cover-up ka shak jataya aur videography ki demand ki transparency ke liye.
Supreme Court ne Kolkata Police officer ko agle hearing mein appear hone ka order diya hai jo pehle incident ko record kiya tha, aur FIR ki timing par jawab dene ko kaha hai. Yeh highlight hua ki victim ka postmortem FIR register hone se pehle hua, jo court ke liye troubling hai.
Court ne protest kar rahe doctors ko duty par wapas aane ko kaha hai, aur unhe assurance diya ki koi adverse action nahi liya jayega jab wo duty resume karenge. AIIMS Nagpur ke resident doctors ke counsel ne bataya ki unhe Kolkata rape-murder case par protests ke liye target kiya ja raha hai.
Chief Justice DY Chandrachud ki bench ne doctors se kaha, “Pehle duty par laut aao, phir agar dikkat ho to humse aao.” Court ne National Task Force (NTF) banayi hai jo doctors aur healthcare professionals ki safety ka protocol banayegi.
Kolkata ke state-run hospital ke seminar hall mein junior doctor ke alleged rape aur murder ne nationwide protests ko janm diya hai. Victim ka body August 9 ko severe injury marks ke saath hospital ke chest department ke seminar hall mein mila tha. August 10 ko Kolkata Police ne civic volunteer ko arrest kiya aur August 14 se CBI ne investigation shuru ki.
