Congress ne SEBI Chief Madhabi Puri Buch per kaafi gambhir aarop lagaye hain. Unhone Tuesday ko ek press briefing mein kaha ki Buch ne Mahindra & Mahindra, Dr Reddy’s, aur teen anya listed companies se crore kamaaye hain. Congress ke leader Pawan Khera kehte hain ki Buch ke dwara owned ek advisory company, Agora Private Limited, 2016 se 2024 tak active rahi, jabki unhone is company ko dormant bataya tha jab unhone office sambhala.

Congress ka kehna hai ki “Shocking revelations” ke tehat, Agora ke clients mein Mahindra & Mahindra, Dr. Reddy’s, Pidilite, ICICI, Sembcorp aur Visu Leasing & Finance shaamil hai. Congress ka daawa hai ki Madhabi Buch ki ‘Agora Advisory Private Limited’ se jo income aayi, voh SEBI ke Code on Conflict of Interest ke Section 5 ka ullanghan hai.

Congress ne ye bhi kaha ki Agora ne total 2.95 crore ka revenue generate kiya, jisme se 2.59 crore sirf Mahindra & Mahindra Group se aaye, jo total revenue ka 88% hai.

Iske alawa, Congress ne aur bhi shocking information di ki Buch ke husband, Dhaval Buch ne personal capacity mein Mahindra & Mahindra se 4.78 crore kamaaye, jabki Madhabi Buch SEBI mein Whole Time Member thi aur Mahindra Group ke cases ko handle kar rahi thi.

Pichle mahine, US-based shortseller Hindenburg Research ne bhi apne report mein Buch aur unke husband ke do consultancy firms – Singapore-based Agora Partners aur India-based Agora Advisory – par sawal uthaye the.

ne 2017 mein SEBI join kiya tha aur March 2022 mein unhe top position mili. Public documents ke anusaar, unki company Agora Advisory Pvt Ltd ne 37.1 million rupees ($442,025) ka revenue kamaya. Halanki, Buch ne apne statement mein bataya tha ki consultancy firms ko SEBI ko disclose kiya gaya tha aur retirement ke baad unke husband inhe chala rahe hain.

Hindenburg ke hawale se kaha gaya ki March 2022 mein Buch ne apne shares Agora Partners mein apne husband ko transfer kiye the, lekin financial year ending March 2024 ke company records ke anusaar, Buch abhi bhi Indian consulting firm mein shares rakhti hain.

Subhash Chandra Garg, jo ek former top bureaucrat aur SEBI board member rahe hain, ne ise ek “serious breach of conduct” bataya. Unka kehna hai ki Buch ko board join karne ke baad bhi firm ka ownership nahi rakhna chahiye tha, aur ye unke regulator position ko bilkul untenable banata hai.
