Desh ke kai hisso se doctors ne Tuesday ko Kolkata ke RG Kar Medical College aur Hospital mein ek woman doctor ke rape aur murder ke khilaf apna protest jaari rakha. Iske chalte out-patient services band ho gayi aur hospitals mein lambi queues lag gayi.

Doctors Protest

Delhi ke government hospitals mein bhi elective services band rahi, as resident doctors’ strike doosre din mein enter kar gaya. AIIMS Delhi aur Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital mein doctors aur medical students ne protest kiya, demanding CBI probe aur ye bhi bola ki strike tab tak chalegi jab tak Central Protection Act par ek written assurance nahi milti.

“Yeh itna serious incident hai… Agar aise incidents workplaces par hote rahenge, to women kaise kaam karengi? Humare paas kai safety concerns hain. Hum chahte hain ki is par CBI probe ho; tab tak hum apna protest jaari rakhenge,” Dr. Indra Shekhar Prasad, President of Resident Doctors Association AIIMS Delhi, ne kaha.

Maharashtra mein resident doctors ne nationwide protests ko support karte hue aaj subah se ek indefinite strike shuru ki. State ke hospitals mein saare elective services band ho gaye hain, lekin emergency services bina kisi rukawat ke continue rahengi, Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors (Central-MARD) ke President Dr. Pratik Debaje ne PTI ko bataya.

“Subah 9 baje se, humne saare OPDs (out-patient departments) aur elective services ko band kar diya hai. Sirf emergency services hi operational hain across the state,” Dr. Debaje ne kaha.

Resident doctors’ body ne Monday ko ye bola tha ki work ko halt karna ek asaan decision nahi tha, but demands ko pura karne ke liye ye zaroori tha. Unhone Maharashtra ke local MARD units ko bhi stir join karne ke liye urge kiya.

Mumbai aur Nagpur mein doctors aur medical students ne protest kiya, demanding justice for the lady post-graduate trainee doctor. Nagpur mein, doctors aur medical students ne Govt Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) ke OPD ke saamne protest kiya.

Iske saath, Jaipur ke government facilities mein bhi medical services affect hui, including largest state-run Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital, jahan resident doctors ne strike par jaane ka decision liya.

Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors (JARD) ke president Dr. Manohar Siyol ne kaha ki Tuesday ko emergency services affect nahi hui. Unhone ye bhi bataya ki resident doctors ne saare elective aur non-essential services ko suspend kar diya, including OPDs, OTs, aur wards.

Monday evening ko, JARD ne non-essential services ko turant suspend kar diya, demanding transparent investigation in rape-murder case, responsible authorities ka resignation, victim ke family ke liye compensation, ek central law for doctors’ protection, aur workplace safety measures at all medical colleges across the country.

SMS Hospital ke superintendent Dr. Sushil Bhati ne bataya ki smooth functioning ke liye alternative arrangements kiye gaye hain. Unhone kaha ki Jaipur aur dusre parts mein incessant rainfall ki wajah se OPD mein patients ki sankhya comparatively kam hai, aur senior doctors ko OPD mein lagaya gaya hai taaki OPDs normal tarike se function kar sakein.

Isi tarah, state-run Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi ke junior doctors ne Tuesday ko ‘pen-down’ agitation shuru kiya, OPD services aur elective surgeries ko boycott karte hue. Lekin unhone emergency services ko continue rakha.

Agitating doctors ne Kolkata ke RG Kar Medical College aur Hospital mein woman doctor ke rape aur murder par CBI probe ki demand ki.

“Around 200 doctors ne agitation join kiya hai, aur senior resident doctors ne bhi humare stir ko support kiya hai. Humara protest emergency services ko exclude karta hai kyunki hum nahi chahte ki koi bhi zaruratmand patient ko suffer karna pade,” Ankit Kumar, President of Junior Doctors’ Association (JDA) at RIMS, ne PTI ko bataya.

Notably, government hospitals ke resident doctors across kai parts of the country ne Monday ko indefinite strike par jaane ka faisla kiya, protest karte hue incident ke against, jis se services jaise ki OPDs aur non-emergency surgeries paralyzed ho gayi hain.

Stir Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) ke call par hua tha, jisme kaha gaya tha, “Strike tab tak lifted nahi hogi jab tak justice nahi milta aur humari demands puri nahi hoti.”

Association ne Monday ko indefinite strike ko extend karne ka announcement kiya, jab Union health ministry officials ke saath meeting se resolution nahi nikal saka.

Protests tab hua jab post-graduate trainee ki body, jo allegedly raped aur murdered hui thi, Friday morning ko RG Kar Medical College aur Hospital in Kolkata mein mili. Ek civic volunteer ko Saturday ko case ke connection mein arrest kiya gaya.

Yeh incident widespread protests ko trigger kar gaya, with junior doctors aur healthcare workers apni safety ke liye deep concern express kar rahe hain.
