Union Minister Jitendra Singh ne Tuesday ko Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) ke chairperson ko letter likhkar recent lateral entry positions ke advertisement ko cancel karne ki request ki.
Letter mein Prime Minister ke directions ka zikr karte hue kaha gaya ki lateral recruitment ka process equity aur social justice ke constitutional principles ko follow kare, especially reservations ko lekar.

10 joint secretaries aur 35 directors/deputy secretaries — ke liye advertisement nikala tha jo lateral entry mode se contract basis par fill kiya jana tha. Ek official ne bataya ki yeh Centre ki taraf se sabse badi lateral recruitment drive hai.
Government of India ne joint secretary aur director/deputy secretary level officers ke lateral recruitment ke requisitions submit kiye hain. Advertisement ke according, talented aur motivated Indian nationals se online applications invite ki gayi hain jo nation building mein contribute karna chahte hain.
Alag-alag ministries/departments mein Delhi headquarters ke vacancies contract basis par fill ki jayengi, 3 years ke liye (performance ke basis par 5 years tak extendable) through website https://www.upsconline.nic.in by September 17.
Lok Sabha ke Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi ne Modi government par lateral entry scheme ko lekar attack ko renew kiya, jise Centre ne ministries aur departments mein expertise aur skill sets ke gaps ko fill karne ke liye well-thought-out move bataya.
“Lateral entry Dalits, OBCs, aur Adivasis par attack hai,” Congress MP ne X par likha, Modi government ke ‘biggest’ lateral scheme ke khilaf apna stand aur sakht karte hue. “BJP ka distorted Ram Rajya Constitution ko barbaad karne aur Bahujans se reservations chheen ne ka kaam kar raha hai,” unhone add kiya.
Congress party ne UPSC advertisement ko BJP ki unprivileged community ko top positions se door karne ki sazish kaha hai. Rahul Gandhi ne scheme ko ‘IAS ka privatisation’ bolkar SEBI link bhi joda.
Unhone claim kiya ki SC, ST, aur OBC categories ke reservations lateral entry ke through important central government ministries mein snatch kiye ja rahe hain. Congress ke criticism ke jawab mein BJP ne UPA link ‘unearth’ karte hue opposition par issue ko politicize karne ka aarop lagaya.
BJP ne Congress ki hypocrisy ko call out karte hue kaha ki yeh 2005 mein UPA government ke time pe Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) ki recommendations thi jo Veerappa Moily ke chairmanship mein aayi thi.
