India ne Canada ki hypocrisy ko highlight karte huve Australian news outlet ke social media handles aur pages ko block karne per sakht pratikriya di hai. Yeh incident tab huva jab Australian outlet ne Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar aur Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong ki press conference aur Indian minister ka interview Canada mein dikhaya. Canada ke is action ko le kar India ne freedom of speech ke maamle mein Canada ke double standards per sawaal uthaye hai.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar ka Australia visit Thursday ko khatam huva.
Is dauraan unhone Australian PM Anthony Albanese se mulaqat ki aur Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue ka co-chair kiya Penny Wong ke saath.
Ministry of External Affairs ke spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal ne kaha, “Humein samajh mein aaya hai ki Australia Today jise important diaspora outlet mana jata hai, uske social media handles Canada mein block kiye gaye hain. Yeh action tab huva jab outlet ne Jaishankar aur Penny Wong ki press conference cover ki thi.”
Jaiswal ne is outlet ke taraf se Minister Jaishankar ka interview aur kuch articles ke coverage ka bhi zikar kiya aur kaha, “Yeh humein ajeeb laga. Canada freedom of speech ke issue per hypocracy dikhata hai. Jaishankar ne apne media interactions mein teen topics ko discuss kiya – bina evidence ke allegations, Indian diplomats par surveillance, aur Canada mein anti-India elements ko milta political space.”
Pichhle hafte India ne kaha tha ki kuch consular officials ko inform kiya gaya hai ke unka audio aur video surveillance ho raha hai. Isse diplomatic norms ka “flagrant violation” kaha gaya aur Canada ke technicalities ke peeche chhupne ko criticize kiya gaya. Canada mein kuch consular camps bhi cancel kar diye gaye hain kyunki Canada se security assurance nahi mila. Yeh announcement Brampton mein ek Hindu temple par attack ke kuch din baad aayi hai jahan ek consular camp bhi ho raha tha. PM Modi ne is cowardly attempt ki ninda ki thi aur Canada mein Indian diplomats ke intimidation ke baare mein apna sakht stand rakha.
India aur Canada ke rishte us waqt aur tense ho gaye jab Canadian PM Justin Trudeau ne pichle saal Indian agents per Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar ke murder mein involved hone ka bina kisi evidence ke aarop lagaya. New Delhi ne in allegations ko baar-baar rubbished kiya aur Canada se proof mangi. Lekin recent developments mein India aur Canada ke beech rishte aur bigad gaye hain jab Canadian authorities ne Indian High Commissioner ko “person of interest” declare kiya. Is accusation ko India ne “ludicrous” kaha aur apne High Commissioner aur kuch diplomats ko wapas bula liya jabki kuch Canadian officials ko bhi India se expel kiya gaya, including acting High Commissioner Stewart Ross Wheeler.
India aur Canada ke beech ye ongoing tensions ab diplomatic level par bhi effect kar rahe hain, aur dono deshon ke leaders ke beech strong statements aur actions ka silsila jaari hai.
